Chelsea Football Club Foundation (CFCF)
Cowes Sixth Form is committed to delivering excellent academic and enrichment opportunities through an innovative approach to education. We are delighted to be working with the Chelsea Football Club Foundation (CFCF) to deliver a college football academy.

Students will have the capacity to choose A-level and vocational subjects to suit their academic needs whilst taking part in a competitive college football academy delivered by Chelsea Football Club Foundation. Possible subject combinations could include our Sports and STEM package which is specifically aimed at students pursuing a career in STEM subjects within sport – this may be Sports Medicine or Psychology, the fast-developing area of Sports Engineering, or Biochemistry. Other options could include Business, Arts or Technology combinations. Whatever the chosen combination of subjects, our specialist staff offer a wealth of experience in industry positions and students will benefit from our Aspire Charter programme designed to support study at top national and international universities.

The football programme is timetabled around academic commitments, with the aim being to develop all players technically and tactically, both in a practical and theory-based setting. This is complemented by appropriate fixtures and matches which are continually monitored throughout the programme.

Leading up to the start of the CFCF – Cowes Enterprise College Football Academy, CFCF will be admitting both boys and girls to the Football Academy for single gender teams and delivering taster sessions and trials. Players who have met Cowes Sixth Form entry requirements will be shortlisted to take part in a final trial in the first week of the sixth form academic year.

Successfully selected players for the final squads will benefit from weekly training sessions and fixtures at the highest level followed by de-brief sessions, all delivered by UEFA qualified CFCF coaches.

Players involved in the CFCF – Cowes Enterprise College Football Academy will be provided with a professional pathway into employment in the sports industry through firstly becoming qualified in football coaching via the Football Association coaching qualifications.
