Cover Supervisor

35 Hours per week

Term Time plus development days

Actual Salary: £18,558 (OAT Scale 5 – NJC Points 15-19)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise whole classes undertaking pre-prepared activities provided by a teacher during the short-term absence of a teacher
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking work
  • Collect any completed work after the lesson and return it to the appropriate teacher
  • Report back as appropriate using the agreed referral procedures on the behaviour of pupils during the class and any issues arising

Apprentice Roles:

Student Support Apprentice

Studying for Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools through our apprenticeship provider; LMP Education.

The post holders will support the team in improving the quality of learning for our students and will support teachers in the delivery of learning activities. These roles are an ideal starting point for those interested in teaching assistant roles or a future career in teaching.

The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.15 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship.
