As you know, we are working to submit our centre assessment grades to the exam boards so that you are issued with a fair grade in August. The Joint council for Qualifications (JCQ), released a statement last week about malpractice. It includes the following statement:

There may be instances where schools and colleges or teachers are put under external pressure from a candidate or their parent/guardian to influence the decision-making on a grade or rank order. Any external pressure must be reported to the exam board(s) who may investigate this as potential candidate malpractice.

Thank you for not contacting us about your grades. We have previously asked that you do not ask us to tell you the grades we are submitting. Please continue to follow this guidance so you are not disadvantaged.

Thank you

Update 20/3/20

The Department of Education has published a new document with important information, please see here: guidance for parents.

Update 19/3/20

Arrangements for childcare during school closure

We are still waiting for guidance from the Government about the definition of key workers and therefore eligibility for the childcare we will be offering in school. Both parents must be key workers to be eligible. If you believe your employment means you will be eligible as a key worker please complete the details in this online form - link at the end of this section.

This service is provided to assist key workers by enabling them to work but is not compulsory. This childcare service will ensure the vital services of our country continue to run. Children receiving our childcare will be able to access online work, already set by teachers, to complete with supervision.

In addition to this, children who meet the following criteria are also eligible to attend school for childcare.

  • Students with education, health & care plans
  • Students who are categorised as ‘vulnerable’ by the government – including those who have a social worker

If you would like to take up this childcare service, and your child, or your employment, meets the criteria then please complete the form linked here.

If you are unable to access this form please ring the main school switchboard to make your request.
